Wrist blades (Yautja: Ki'cti-pa) are the chosen weapon for most Predators on the hunt. Wrist blades are retractable twin blades between six and eighteen inches long, between two and eight inches apart and sharp enough to cut through bone. The serrated edge on the back of each wrist blade is intended for use against unarmored adversaries. The Predator known as "Celtic" possessed blades that could reverse direction. [1]

As a point of pride, the Brawler rank arm themselves with these melee weapons exclusively, inflicting a crippling amount of damage even without the use of ranged weapons. [2]

Wrist blades are not without drawbacks, for example, some of the longer ones are too long to be covered by a hunter's Cloaking Device. Also, the shorter ones are visible through their adaptive camo systems when covered in gore. They are also not acid-proof, and will melt when cutting a Xenomorph. However older Hunters, like Wolf, are allowed to use acid-resistant coating for their wrist blades or mold them out of the same metal as the combi-stick, which remedies this.

The Bio Mask is one of the main tools used by the Predators. These masks contain a variety of functions which the Predators may require during a hunt. As well as protecting the Predator's head, the mask has a sound amplifier, multiple vision modes, a zoom function, some diagnostic capabilities and a recording system. The mask may also have a red targeting laser, used by a Predator for accurate plasma caster shots.

Combi-stick, Combi-spear, "Combat-Staff", (sometimes identified with the naginata weapon used by samurai warriors), is an exceedingly sharp and resilient weapon used by the Predators. The Combi-stick is telescopic, extended to its full length when used in combat. It is made of incredible material, light but sharp, thin but strong.

The Predator recieves it when they have finished all of their extremely hard training, and have shown themselves ready to begin their first hunt. The predator will decorate the combi-stick through time with skulls and memories of different hunts and moments in their long life, making the staff a part of the Predator, and its prized possession. The staff ultimately becomes more powerful. If the staff breaks (which rarely happens) the predator takes its own life. When a predator dies an honorable death, they are buried with their spear.

The spear's advantage is that it is extremely fast, well balanced and extremly strong. It can also parry melee attacks, smacking aside claws, teeth and bullets as if they were hardly relevant. This only works on less skilled opponents. It is also very easy to throw because it's so light.

Yautja Spear Masters are tend to train solely in the use of these weapons and have displayed their mastery in combat by holding back hordes of enemies. They also teach young predators in the art of wielding the powerful weapon. A Spear Master is the second highest rank next to Elder.

An ornate combi-stick was given to Lex at the end of Alien vs. Predator by an elder Yautja as a trophy for killing a Xenomorph Queen. It can be assumed that this was given to her as a sign that she had gone above and beyond the requirement for possessing one as she killed not only several Xenomorphs, but a Xenomorph Queen, something most Yautja can never accomplish during a xenomorph hunt.

The plasma caster is a long range energy projector capable of guiding armor-penetrating plasma bolts at distant targets. Morever, the weapon's bolts explode in a burst of plasma shrapnel that damages other enemies near the point of impact. By default, the weapon's attack range is greater than The Predator's visual range. Predator vision modes changes this relationship, however, enabling the Predator to act as a sniper (AvP Extinction). The Plasma Caster can be dual wielded if two are collected. (Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem)

There are two main ways of firing a Plasma Caster that have been seen in the films. One is a faster, but more explosive and more unstable gold-colored charge. The other is a safer, but slower and less explosive blue-colored charge.

The plasma caster can be charged by the user to fire more powerful shots that are even more damaging to prey. (AvP2, Predator: Concrete Jungle)

Young Yautja are not equipped with plasma casters and must face a right of passage hunt where they must venture on a hunt using only their bladed weapons. Plasma casters and advanced weaponry come with greater hunts and experience. It should be noted that using plasma weaponry takes away from the honor of a kill. This can be seen both in the end of Predator 1 and 2 where the Predator removes his mask and ranged weapons and only utilizes his blades.

How the Predator fires this weapon is unknown but in the games Aliens versus Predator 1 and 2, the Predator used its wrist bracer to fire it and charge it. In the films however, the Predators simply fires it without pressing anything but its been speculated that the bio mask has buttons inside which it presses with its mandibles.

The handheld plasma cannon or plasma pistol acts like a handheld mid-range version of the plasma caster but with a large area of affect. It was mainly featured in Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, when the Predator Wolf's plasma casters were damaged. The Yautja fashioned a Plasma Pistol out of the machinery, but it was captured by the Yutani corporation after a human survivor, Dallas Howard, stole it and used it to aid in the human's escape. It was also featured in AvP and it's sequel for PC both of which have different firing methods. In the first game, the mechanism is fired in a parabolic arc like a grenade launcher, while the second game portrays it as firing in a straight line. In the second game, the secondary fire fires a burst in an arced trajectory, capable of stunning xenomorphs and even jamming electronic equipment temporarily.

The Wrist Gauntlet (or the Wrist Bracer or Wrist Computer) is possibly the Predator's most valuable tool. The wrist mounted console houses several features necessary to the hunt. The sat-com is a computer housed in the wrist console, which projects holographic schematics of a particular object or building. As well as functioning as a global positioning unit, the sat-com can also display the position (and damage radius) of mines or laser nets in the area. On one occasion, there is a gauntlet Plasma Caster, firing from the wrist bracer like a missile, causing intense damage to the target. The wrist computer houses an uplink to the hunter's Bio Mask, capable of changing vision modes and activating the camouflage. The console can be used to manually target enemies with the Plasma Caster. If the hunter is in danger of being captured or defeated, the wrist console houses the Self Destruct System, eliminating the hunter and the surrounding areas in the blast. In Alien vs.Predator, Scar removes his after activating the self destruct sequence and tosses it into the nest of xenomorph eggs, showing that it is easy to remove.

When a Yautja is on the verge of death, he will activate his self-destruct device. It has been featured in all the Predator films, in Predator 2, it was destroyed before it could explode, as well as the Alien Vs. Predator films. Each Predator carries a device mounted on their wrist computer. Once activated this device begins a relatively short countdown. Red LEDs of Yuatja numerals on the Predator's gauntlet serve as a warning that the bomb is about to explode. The detonation of the bomb results in a small nuclear-like explosion which destroys an area equivalent to an entire city. The device is usually used as a means of retaining honor, much like Japanese seppuku, allowing the hunter to commit suicide when he has been mortally wounded or inescapably trapped, in order to preserve his honor and remove any evidence of his existence. A similar device is found on Predator starships.
